Thank you for the new designed website. I hope you will continue to update the issues that are fast changing daily and weekly. Some of us want to stay up on issues, but working and doing other volunteer time, it's hard to know what has just "changed" today at the local, state and federal levels that effect middle class people and working families. Please keep us educated as we work towards yet another change in 2012!!!

More of the same puff speech from the "we have no new ideas" crowd. The disapointments arrive daily in our collective inboxes concerning the operations of those seeking to dismantle our society, and the folks running our state government, well they never fail to deliver.

As Democrats, the citizens of our state need to find us the active standardbearers of truth in stewardship to our ideals of a compassionate, vibrant, and economically sound Michigan.

Great to finally have the new website up and running. Now lets refer our neighbors, co-workers and family.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jocelyn Benson. However, with our present governor and legislature, I feel it's hopeless to think that we could enact anything like what you suggest. What gives you hope? How could we accomplish your ideas with the present people in power? Can you share with me your reasons to be optimistic?

What good work! ! !
This website is wonderful and URGENTLY needed. The news media is providing virtually NO coverage of these events. Of course, it is conservatively controlled. There is much, much work to be done here to recall this maniac and replace several members of the Legislature. We are really going to need this website to keep current and abreast of what is happening at the capitol.

Thank you, thank you for this wonderful piece of work. It will surely make the work of we activists easier and more timely. I don't know about anyone else out there, but I'm itching to get those recall signature petitions out there.

Again, thank you.

have been following the activity in Michigan with great interest. The main issue at the time that has drawn my attention is the Governor's attempt to create a feudal domain with pledges of feudal loyalty to his ideology. After doing legal research on the subject it is clear that the Governor's actions are repugnant to the US Constitution, both Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 and Article I, Section 10, Clause 1. These Articles were specifically written to ensure that the voice of the people will not be muted. That no single entity will be superior to the vote of the people.

Michigan, as well as several other states have been turned into a battleground of protecting or destroying the hard earned rights of Americans. Our American brothers and sisters have fought, bled, and died to win and protect those rights. Never before since the founding of this country, with the exception perhaps of the War Between the States", have our freedoms been in such jeopardy.

Please use this and whatever assistance I have to offer to push these neanderthals back to the dark caves and holes from which they crawled out of. I am at a loss why these pretenders are not arrested on sight for their illegal actions.

Thank you, Jocelyn, for posting this!

Jocelyn, you probably know this, but to everyone else: The Michigan Constitution actually established a bipartisan commission similar to what you had mentioned for Arizona, California, and Florida. Problem is, they made a tie-bar between that section and four or five other sections, so that if one section was struck down by a court, they would all be invalid. Guess what? That's exactly what happened.

My idea for such a proposal would be similar to what they do in Arizona. there would be five Democrats appointed by the MDP Chair (and you would be one, Jocelyn!); five Republicans appointed by the MRP Chair; and five others elected with the support of at least 2/3 of the Legislature (so they would need to be backed by members of both parties). Each plan would need to be approved by 2/3 of the commissioners (including at least one Democrat, at least one Republican, and at least one independent, so it has bipartisan support).
