LANSING — The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on passage of so-called “right to work” legislation today in the Michigan House:
“The Tea Party takeover of the Michigan GOP is officially complete,” said Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer. “Governor Rick Snyder, Speaker Jase Bolger and Senate Republican Leader Randy Richardville have shown they are nothing more than puppets for Dick DeVos, who has proven his disdain for Michigan workers by laying them off and sending their jobs to China. Snyder has shown he cannot be trusted since up until two days ago he said this legislation was not ‘on his agenda.’ Bolger is up to his old tricks of subverting democracy in Michigan by pushing this legislation through during lame duck session, with no public hearings and with no chance for the voters to have their say.”
