MIGOP Kowtows to New Hampshire
MIGOP Chair Anuzis Endorses New Hampshire Monopoly
LANSING- Today Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer sharply criticized the MIGOP for selling out Michigan by endorsing New Hampshire’s monopolistic stronghold on hosting the first presidential primary.
“When is a Michigan Republican going to stand up for Michigan?” asked Brewer. “First, they meekly allow President Bush to ignore the Big Three. Then Dick DeVos ships Michigan jobs to China. Now, Saul Anuzis says it is okay for New Hampshire to continue to unfairly control the presidential nominating process at the expense of Michigan.”
In an article written by John Distaso in the New Hampshire Union Leader on October 20, 2007 Anuzis is quoted as saying “We have no issue with New Hampshire (being the first primary) at all.”
“Time and again, Michigan Republicans fail to defend Michigan’s interests,” observed Brewer. “Just like Dick DeVos is better suited to run for governor in China than in Michigan, Saul Anuzis has shown he is well-qualified to be chairman of the New Hampshire GOP.”
