MI Republicans: Partying in Mackinac More Important than Budget Solution

LANSING -Today, Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer criticized Republicans for going to this weekend’s Mackinac Conference instead of focusing on the solving the budget crisis:

“It is clear Republicans are not committed to finding a budget solution. While Democrats were up all last night, worked all last week and were in session all last weekend, Republicans have been missing in action, preferring to party on the Porch of the Grand Hotel. Republicans have shown every step of the way they do not take this budget crisis seriously. If there is a shutdown of state government it will be due to Republicans’ unwillingness to work on a bipartisan basis."
